• How can I be safe on Social ASL?
  When using any social site, you must always ensure your own safety. Following our Safety Guidelines will help you be more safe as you make connections.


• How do I know if someone is interested in dating or is only looking for friends?
  Every profile is marked with a color and text for what they are here for. You can also view any profile and look at what they answered for the "Here for" question to see what they are here for.


• What is a Tap?
  A "Tap" is a quick way to start a conversation with another member. It is similar to a "wink" or "poke" on other social sites. You can only send one Tap per day, so be sure to send them only to those with whom you wish to make a connection.


• What are Virtual Gifts?
  A Virtual Gift is a fun digital image that you can send to other members to have fun and establish a connection. To send a gift, just select "More" then "Send Gift" from the user's profile.


• How can I start a video chat?
  If you have a Premium membership, you can use our video chat feature! You will see the option to open a video chat from within a text chat message or on a user's profile. You can only initiate video calls if you have a Premium membership and you must have at least a Basic membership to answer video calls.


• How do I update my preferences/settings?
  To update your preferences, simply mouse over your name in the upper right hand corner and select "My Preferences."


• How do I edit my profile?
  To edit your profile, simply mouse over your name in the upper right hand corner and select "Profile Edit."


• How do I set my matchmaking preferences?
  To edit your matchmaking preferences, simply mouse over your name in the upper right hand corner and select "Matchmaking Preferences."


• How do I change my email notifications?
  To change your email notifications, simply mouse over your name in the upper right hand corner and select "Mail Notifications."


• How do I change my profile privacy settings?
  To change your privacy settings, simply mouse over your name in the upper right hand corner and select "My Preferences" then open the Privacy tab.


• What if someone is bothering me?
  If someone is bothering you or posting something offensive, you can Flag their post and/or profile or Block their profile under the "More" tab.


• How do I cancel my recurring subscription?
  If you have a recurring subscription, you can go to My Preferences, select the Subscription tab, and click the "Cancel Subscription" button. You will still be able to use your membership until it expires. If you do not see the Subscription tab, then you do not have a recurring subscription and your membership will expire at the end of the period you purchased.
